Poway Slammers Kids Wrestling Club offers your child an opportunity to develop their wrestling skills through instruction and tournament competition. The Slammers is part of a year-round wrestling program offered by the Poway Wrestling Foundation. Slammers is open to any boy or girl in age 6 to 8th grade. Our season begins in early November and runs until the second weekend of March. The focus is on folkstyle wrestling.

For the 2007 - 2008 season, wrestlers have been separated into two age groups based on their birth year. Wrestlers born in 1992 to 1997 are in the "older" age group. Wrestlers born in 1998 to 2002 are in the "younger" age group. The older age group practices Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The younger age group practices Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. All practices are held in the Dr. Perry L. Munday Wrestling Center at Poway High School. Tournaments are held each Sunday starting in December for new wrestlers and January for more experienced wrestlers. The season finishes with the State Folkstyle Championships in March.
