to develop strong values and personal character that will enhance
individual lives and community well being.”

In December 2000, Dr. Perry L. Munday donated $1,000,000 to the Poway Wrestling Foundation for the purpose of building a wrestling center. Dr. Munday envisioned a training facility that would teach the youth of Poway through the sport of wrestling the values of hard work, discipline, goal setting, and camaraderie. His vision became a reality when the Dr. Perry L. Munday Wrestling Center was constructed at Poway High School.

Dr. Munday envisioned a training facility that would attract and support young people as they developed their wrestling skills. The 11,000 square foot facilities includes a mat area large enough for three 40 x 40 wrestling mats plus bleacher space to accommodate 120 people. In addition to the wrestling area, there is a large weight room, a classroom, a coaching office, a lobby, and restrooms. Completed in April 2002, the Foundation has transferred ownership of the center to the Poway Unified School District, which will operate and maintain the new facility.

Poway wrestling has touch the lives of numerous families over the past three decades. The alumni of this outstanding program have translated success on the mat to success in their adult lives.
